HeartVoice
has been singing and playing devotional music dedicated to the form of Sri
Sathya Sai Baba since 1989. Lalita (Lynn) and Richard first met playing
music together at a Sathya Sai Baba retreat, and have since performed as
HeartVoice at Sai retreats in the West singing and playing their devotional
songs for devotees.Lalita Lynn Karst,
a Sai bhajan leader since 1976, rearranged several Sanskrit bhajan translations
into singable English including Aarathi,
Vibuthi song, and Sri
Sathya Sai Suprabhatam, all of which are now widely in use in Sai Centers
across America. Lynn also writes contemporary devotional songs for HeartVoice.
A bhajan leader since 1977, Richard Karst began writing, singing and
playing Western-style Sai devotional music in the fall of 1988. As a multi-instrumentalist
and record producer, he continues to provide music and arrangements for
HeartVoice and other devotional and secular music projects.
Their first release Seeds of Love
was blessed by Baba at Prashanti Nilayam in 1995, and their newest release
English Bhajans & Suprabhatam was
considered for a Grammy nomination in 1997 (Best New Age Album). They plan
to record another album of devotional music in 1998.
HeartVoice hopes to someday perform for Baba in the Poornachandra.
